Storytelling has made my life fuller

I am aware that in my blog about mushrooms and nature, my creative musings are an "alien" element, but without storytelling I would be dead, consumed by the brutality of life. The heroes that emerged from my life experiences helped me through many difficulties and kept me going. Among them the brightest "star" is Rabbit-hearted Merwil. He is the first warming ray of summer sunshine in my heart, the joyful laugh and the clever clear eyes I love to see. He is the embodiment of my idealistic self, as idealistic as one can only be when young. Of course, many years have passed since 2002 and I have grown old while learning a lot about myself and the true nature of human. But it was good to believe, to wish, to hope, to trust and to wait for the miracle that was already there, because I was born and a few years later I could look at the starry sky. To this day, I am fascinated by the sight of the Milky Way, being able to gaze out into space as a little earthling. 
Whatever comes, what's done is done, no one can take it away from me. I was young and the personification of my youth is still vivid in my imagination. It is my little joy that shines through the predictability of everyday life, that life ends in death, that what I was will be no more, I will be destroyed. That doesn't bother me, I don't argue with obvious facts. 
Now I'm off to bed, because on Wednesday I'm going out into the real world again to play out my life story, which is not nearly as adventurous as Merwil's, but it's also full of challenges, lessons and potential rewards, the satisfaction of having done what I had to do and not lived in vain. 

P.S.: When I was young, I was interested in writing, but it didn't change my life when I published some of my writings. What influenced me was the storytelling, the stories of the heroes that emerged from my being, because they revealed to me who I was and what I was. They are my spiritual guides, eternal companions.
