Frost and Flame* |
Today I walked through the festively decorated main square, with Santa sweets hidden in my bag to surprise a friend. By the time I got home, colorful lights were glowing in the window, a cheerful greeting after my walk. As I listened to the online Christmas radio, I felt the festive spirit wash over me and remembered a story I dreamed up last year.
It all began with a Bing DallE image I generated—a fire dragon celebrating Christmas, having just looted a holiday fair. Looking at that mischievous red dragon, I wondered: what if there was an opposite to balance him? That’s when the ice mage, Branco, came to life. Together, they formed an impossible disaster duo: one fiery, one frosty, but neither truly evil. Just two characters with quirks, flaws, and unexpected charm.
This afternoon, I brought them back to life. With the help of ChatGPT, I wrote lyrics for their Christmas story, and Suno AI turned them into a song. And so, I added another piece to a story that may never fully unfold—but that’s okay.
You see, storytelling is more than writing for me. It’s self-discovery. It’s creating heroes who help me explore my own strengths. I don’t care about publishing or perfection. I care about the joy of creating and the sense of fulfillment it brings. After years of inner journeying, I’ve finally learned to embrace the gifts of my personality without shame.
So, if you take one piece of advice from me: dive in. Call on your characters and your heroes. They’ll reveal your strength, and you’ll discover parts of yourself you never knew were there.
